Money, Money, Money

I was using this piece of overheard dialogue as part of the training that I did yesterday. There's a lot wrong with it as a piece of training material, but the one advantage that it has is that I actually did overhear this conversation in a cafe in London. It's the way people really talk about projects, scary though that may be.

I got some funny comments- "Are they married?", "What kind of weirdo are you, lurking about in cafes and overhearing peoples web development negotiations?" (Well, check out the rest of this blog, this kind of weirdo).

But one the people attending the course, had something very insightful to say. "He's just talking about the money." she said.
"He's not trying to find out what they want, what's important to them, he's just talking to them about the money."
